Hi Dennis, Monessen manufactures an insert with a blower, model DIS33 if you feel a blower is necessary. Now, because you are inserting a ventless insert inside of your fireplace instead of gas logs, the log set is smaller and has less BTU's. The ventless gas logs better use the space inside your fireplace and heat a larger area. There's isn't a blower option with the Monessen or ProCom ventless gas log sets. In most cases because ventless gas logs are so efficient and put out so much heat, a blower isn't necessary.
