Can I modify a ventless gas heater to a vented heater?

Spencer asked:

I have recently been given a Charmglow ventless heater that I would like to install in our master bedroom. It has been suggested that modifying this unit to be a "vented" unit and might be a safer way to go. Could you please provide any suggestions that might be helpful ?  The heater is a Charmglow model NFHTX 186.

Thank you very much for your time and suggestions,

Answer:

Spencer, there is no way to modify a ventless gas heater to make it vented. Also keep in mind there are restrictions with the maximum BTU'S that can be used in a bedroom. In order to use a ventless gas product in a bedroom it must be less than 10,000 BTU's to meet code.
