Hi Sharon, A ventless gas log set burns "clean" therefore eliminating the possibility of fumes coming directly from the burner. You do need to be careful about odors you are emitting into the air while using a ventless gas product. Paint, stain or other strong odors can be burned through the system and smell like a fume.
