Yes indeed vent free gas logs generate an extraordinary amount of heat. With no vent for the heat to be lost, all of that warmth comes pouring into your home. With winter on our doorstep that is a great thing! Many fireplaces have mantles installed over the top of their fireplaces. These mantles can get quite warm when operating your vent free gas logs. When installing your gas logs, please refer to the owners manual for proper height requirements for your existing mantle. Metal heat deflectors can be purchased that can be installed if you mantle is too low.
